Youth shot dead in Delhi, 2 juveniles held
New Delhi, April 28: Two juveniles have been apprehended in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old man in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area, police said on Monday. The two boys, both aged 17, confessed to the crime and disclosed the involvement of another person, a senior police officer said, adding that efforts are on to nab him. The incident occurred around 11.40 pm on Sunday, when a caller informed police that his son, Sameer, had been shot in J-Block of the area. (PTI)
Man watching Pahalgam attack reel beaten up on moving train
Indore, April 28: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday registered an FIR against two unidentified persons for allegedly abusing and assaulting a 23-year-old man on Bhopal-Indore passenger train, an official said. The victim claimed he was attacked over watching a reel regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, which upset the accused. The youth, who reached the GRP police station wearing a cap on his head and a mask on his face to hide his identity, told reporters that during the dispute over this reel, the accused said objectionable things about India and the Constitution and also tried to throw him out of the moving train. Cabbie attacks MP minister’s PA with knife
Indore, April 28: A cab driver allegedly knifed and injured the personal assistant (PA) of Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Monday in Indore following an argument over luggage, police said. The accused, identified as Shailesh Ahirwar (48), was arrested within 15 minutes of the incident and charged with attempted murder and other sections under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. (PTI)
Man, mother get life term jail for starving wife to death
Kollam, April 28: A court here on Monday sentenced a man and his mother to life imprisonment for starving his wife to death over dowry in this district in 2019. S Subash, the judge of the Additional District and Sessions Court-IV, also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each on the convicts — Chandulal (36) and his mother Geetha (62), special prosecutor Mahendra K B said. The victim, 28-year-old Thushara, was reduced to a “bag of bones” and had died due to starvation enforced by her husband and mother-in-law for dowry. The case had caused significant public outrage in Kerala. (PTI)
