District Cricket League: Ummulong CC beat Young Lad’s CC

Jowai, May 3: The Ummulong Cricket Club (CC) defeated Young Lad’s CC by 6 wickets in the District Cricket League 2025, organised by the West Jaiñtia Hills District Cricket Association (WJHDCA), at Mini Stadium, Khliehtyrshi, on Saturday
Rain interruptions caused the match to be shortened to a 20-over affair instead of the maximum 35 overs.
Ummulong won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Young Lad’s scored 110 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Young Lad’s skipper Dathrangki Pariat played a key role by scoring 46 runs from 46 balls, hitting one six and four boundaries.
For Ummulong, skipper Wellmanson Passah and Heimonlang Lyngdoh each took 2 wickets in their 4 overs.
Ummulong CC successfully chased the target by scoring 111 runs in 17.5 overs, losing only 4 wickets. The standout performer was Aaron Lamare, who remained not out with 48 runs from 38 balls, including 2 sixes and 6 boundaries.
Maremdor Sutnga from Young Lad’s CC managed to take 2 wickets in 3.5 overs.
Heimonlang Lyngdoh of Ummulong CC was named the Player of the Match for scoring 22 runs and taking 2 wickets.
