North Garo Hills district police chief, Swapnil Pawar, said there is no breakthrough into the case as yet albeit all attempts are being made to identify the culprits.
“He (the pastor) is currently recovering in Guwahati, Assam,” the North Garo Hills Superintendent of Police said.
The pastor from the village of Chilpara, under Wageasi in Kharkutta in North Garo Hills, Biren Sangma, was shot at about 2 am on April 5 (Monday), when he went to the gate in front of his house upon hearing disturbances outside.
