Mukroh man gets 6 months in trespass and assault case

JOWAI, May 22: The District and Sessions Court, Jowai, has convicted one Silas Sten of Mukroh village in connection with a criminal case registered in 2016, and sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment.
The case originated from an FIR lodged on September 8, 2016, by one Shngain Niang, who alleged that on the night of September 3, 2016, the accused forcibly entered his home at around 10 pm, threatened him with a dagger, and subsequently lured his wife.
The incident was registered at Jowai Police Station, and was investigated and charge-sheeted by WPSI J. Nongseij.
Following the culmination of the trial, the Court of District and Sessions Judge N.A. Khan on Tuesday convicted Sten under Sections 448 and 323 of the IPC for house trespass and voluntarily causing hurt.
