Shillong, June 8: In a significant step towards preparing for the 39th National Games 2027, which will be hosted in Shillong, the All Meghalaya Karate-Do Association (AMKA) held a special Parents and Students Meeting on June 7, 2025.
The meeting aimed to sensitise both athletes and their guardians about the long-term roadmap leading to the prestigious multi-sport event.
All shortlisted probables for the state’s preparatory karate camp were present, accompanied by their parents, as AMKA officials unveiled a detailed 20-month training blueprint.
The comprehensive plan includes rigorous coaching, access to upgraded infrastructure, and consistent government support to mould a competitive Team Meghalaya.
During the meeting, the Association underscored the crucial role of parental involvement and athlete dedication in realising Meghalaya’s sporting ambitions.
The officials sought wholehearted commitment from the young athletes and their families, stressing that their collective effort will be key to the state’s performance on the national stage.
Among those present at the meeting were AMKA President Shri Hunlang Lytan, Vice President Shri Banshanlang Kharumnuid, General Secretary Shri Ksan Kupar Warjri, and members Shri Donboklang Lyngdoh, Shri Arjun Sewa, and Shri Mingson Rymbai.
The gathering marked a vital beginning in Meghalaya’s focused campaign to make a mark in karate at the upcoming National Games.
