INDORE, June 23: The elder brother of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, killed while honeymooning in Sohra, said on Monday his family will approach the High Court of Meghalaya for narco-analysis tests on prime accused in the case Sonam and her alleged lover Raj Kushwaha.
Besides Sonam, wife of Raja Raghuvanshi, and Kushwaha, six others have been arrested by the Meghalaya Police for the sensational murder which took place on May 23 when the newly-married couple was on a honeymoon trip to the Northeastern state.
Raja Raghuvanshi’s elder brother Vipin said, “The motive behind my brother’s murder is still unclear. Narco tests on Sonam and Kushwaha can provide clues about it. Therefore, we will soon file a petition in the Meghalaya High Court for conducting narco tests on both accused.”
Apart from the alleged “love triangle”, the motive behind the murder could be to gain huge financial benefits by the accused, he suspected.
During a narco-analysis test, a drug, sodium pentothal, is injected into the body of the subject which takes him/her to a hypnotic state, and his/her imagination is neutralised, leading him/her to gives true information about an incident.
Sonam is accused of getting her husband killed with the help of Kushwaha and three contract killers, a case which has sent shockwaves across the country.
Raja Raghuvanshi, who was into transport business, went missing on May 23 during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. His decomposed body was found in a deep gorge near Weisawdong Falls in Sohra on June 2. (PTI)
