M’laya Police strike gold at World Police & Fire Games

Shillong, July 7: It was a proud moment for Meghalaya Police as two of its personnel brought home gold medals from the World Police & Fire Games 2025, currently underway in the United States.
Alan Marbaniang clinched the gold medal in the Arm Wrestling 90kg (30+ Right Hand) category, showcasing immense strength and skill on the international stage. Adding to the state’s glory, Wandalin Syiemiong delivered a stellar performance by winning double gold in the 65kg (30+ Left & Right Hand) categories.
Their victories have not only brought laurels to Meghalaya Police but have also placed India on the global map in arm wrestling at the prestigious multi-sport event for police officers and firefighters worldwide.Their remarkable achievements have sparked pride and admiration across Meghalaya, highlighting the dedication, discipline, and physical prowess of the state’s police personnel. As representatives of both the force and the region, Marbaniang and Syiemiong have become inspirations for aspiring athletes in uniform, proving that with commitment and courage, excellence on the global stage is well within reach.
