Cierra Ortega, a reality star, has spoken out about her exit from Love Island USA due to a personal situation. The show aired on July 6, and Ortega claimed it was due to a “personal situation.” However, she later resurfaced posts using racial slurs online. Ortega shared a video and written statement on Instagram, addressing the situation calmly and clearly. She apologized for using the word “slur” and expressed her remorse for not knowing it carried such much pain and harm.
She took accountability for using the word but emphasized that she genuinely had no idea it was a slur. Ortega’s family also released a statement on social media after her exit, expressing their understanding of the backlash but also concern about the level of online hate.
They stated that they are not here to justify or ignore what’s surfaced, but the level of online hate has gone far beyond that. New episodes of Love Island USA air daily (except Wednesdays) on Peacock. (ANI)
