Son of Sardaar 2 to release on Aug 1
The release date of Son of Sardaar 2, featuring Ajay Devgn, has been postponed by a week and will now hit the big screen worldwide on August 1, the makers said on Saturday. The film from Vijay Kumar Arora is a sequel to Son of Sardaar, which was released in 2012. It is produced by Devgn alongside Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja. It will also feature Mrunal Thakur and Vindu Dara Singh. The makers shared the news with a post on the official Instagram handle. The text over the poster mentioned, ‘The Laughter Riot Just Got A New Date. Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide.’ The caption of the post read, ‘Jassi Paaji and toli will see you in cinemas worldwide on 1st August 2025.’ It was previously slated to release in theatres on July 25. Kajol’s Maa crosses Rs 50 crore-mark
Maa, a mythological horror film featuring Bollywood star Kajol in the lead role, has earned over Rs 50 crore gross at the worldwide box office, the makers announced on Saturday. Directed by Vishal Furia, best known the projects such as Lapachhapi, Criminal Justice and Chhori, the film is written by Saiwyn Quadras and released in theatres worldwide on June 27. Presented by Jio Studios and Devgn Films, the film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak. The makers shared the box office numbers on the X handle. It had the film’s poster with the breakdown of the collection. The film’s collection at the domestic box office nett is Rs 38.30 crore and the gross collection is Rs 45.19 crore. Canadian actor Taylor Russell, best known for her roles in films such as Waves and Escape Room, has exited the upcoming Amazon MGM Studio’s film The Thomas Crown Affair. According to the entertainment news outlet Deadline, Russell was cast alongside Michael B Jordan in the film. But she left the project citing creative differences as the reason for her exit. The studio will soon recast for her role. The Thomas Crown Affair is the remake of the 1968 romantic heist thriller. Directed by Norman Jewison, the film featured Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen. The story revolved around a billionaire art thief who engages in a cat-and-mouse game with an investigator. (PTI)

Hollywood star Jessica Alba turned her spice on during her visit to London as she munched on desi golgappas. Alba took to Instagram, where she shared a handful of throwback images, which she tagged a “forever memories.” She shared a few glimpses with her daughter Honor from her vacation, which also included pictures of the yummy delicacies she gorged on. However, it was the image from Gymkhana London that caught the eye. The photograph featured a golgappa, with the actress seen filling it with black grams, while other condiments were placed next to it. A plate of golgappas could also be seen on the side. For the caption, Jessica wrote: “Beautiful forever memories with my baby girl.” The actress and her daughter had gone for the opening day of Wimbledon in London. The two had donned matching floral looks. Alba wore a blue-and-white dress with a low neckline, while her daughter adorned a red-and-blue outfit.
