Tura, July 24: The AMMSU on Thursday wrote the Executive Chairman of MBOSE seeking the setting up of an examination centre at Bhaitbari Higher Secondary SchooI in West Garo Hills.
According to the union, the students from numerous remote villages at present, are required to travel to the Chokchkia Examination Centre to sit for their SSLC examinations. This travel, as per the union, poses significant challenges, particularly for female students who face a myriad of issues including safety concerns, accessibility, and additional economic burdens incurred through transportation costs.
“By establishing an examination centre at Bhaitbari Higher Secondary School, we can greatly alleviate these challenges. This initiative would not only promote equitable access to education but also empower students from Bhaitbari and the adjacent villages to perform to the best of their abilities without the added strain of long-distance travel,” it said, while urging the official to take steps to set up the same.
