SHILLONG, Aug 19: The All Primary School Teachers’ Association (APSTA) will organise a rally on Friday to highlight key issues concerning primary school teachers.
The rally will focus on several demands, including opposition to the MEG Continuity for Deficit Teachers provision, under which posts held by current deficit teachers will remain unaffected but, after retirement, will be transferred under MEG; issuance of CPS personal accounts; filling up of vacant posts; implementation of the One School One Account system; and addressing challenges with the Megh-SIMS portal in rural areas.
The rally will begin at 10 am from Jail Road Puja Mandap and proceed via Police Bazar, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Ward’s Lake, and Polo Bazar, before concluding at Golf Links Community Hall.
