SHILLONG, Aug 23: Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh has highlighted Meghalaya’s growing role in India’s music industry during the 9th edition of All About Music 2025, held at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.
The annual conference, themed ‘Momentum – Turning Moments into Movements’, brought together creators, industry leaders and visionaries to celebrate the rise of Indian music and its global resonance.
Lyngdoh joined a discussion with co-founder of Wizcraft International Entertainment, Sabbas Joseph, where he traced Meghalaya’s journey in building a concert economy, recalling how the state has hosted international icons in Shillong while also nurturing grassroots talent and creating new performance avenues for local artists. The event also featured spontaneous musical collaborations.
William and Jessica’s vocals, Sunita Bhuyan’s violin performance of Ri Lum, and an on-stage jam session with Lyngdoh marked some of the more memorable moments.
Artists and dignitaries from the Northeast, including Shyamkanu Mahanta, Reble, Jeffrey Laloo and Alobo Naga, were also present, adding their voices and perspectives to the deliberations.
During the event, Lyngdoh described the experience as one of joy and inspiration, noting that the gathering reinforced the power of music as a universal language of connection.
