The Meghalaya Body Building and Fitness Association will organise the Mr. and Miss Meghalaya 2025, to be held at State Central Library, So So Tham Hall, on September 13. The event will feature different categories of competition such as ‘Men Body Building’, ‘Men Bermuda Beach Model’, ‘Women Sport & Glamour’ and ‘Men Denim Jean Model’.
Body found
A decomposed body was spotted by villagers floating in a pit near Indian Petrol Pump, Khliehriat East, East Jaintia Hills, on August 14 afternoon. The Headman of Khliehriat East informed the police and personnel were deputed to cause an enquiry, the Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills, said in a statement issued here. The body has fished out of the abandoned pit and inquest was conducted on the spot in the presence of witnesses. The cadaver was then sent to Khliehriat CHC for post-mortem examination to ascertain the cause of death. According to the police, villagers could not recognise the deceased.
Meeting
The Executive Body of the Meghalaya Architects’ Forum (MAF), in its recent meeting, has decided to hold the 13th General Body Meeting (GBM) of the dorum, tentatively scheduled for the 3rd week of September. “In this connection, we are making every effort to invite all registered architects (and those in the process of registration) domiciled within the state of Meghalaya to participate in this GBM,” MAF president, Aiban S Mawkhroh said in a statement. He said that they request all existing members of MAF to reach out to any architects who are not yet members of the Forum and encourage them to confirm their participation. Mawkhroh said that interested architects are requested to send their name and year of graduation to the following email address: [email protected] on or before September 5.
