Shillong, Oct 14: Preparations are underway for the upcoming BCCI Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy 2025-26, with the North East Zone selection committee scheduled to meet on October 21 in Guwahati to finalise the team that will represent the region in the national tournament.
The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) President, Nababrata Bhattacharjee, has been entrusted with the responsibility of Convenor of the zonal selection committee by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). As convenor, Bhattacharjee will oversee the proceedings of the crucial selection meeting that will decide the final composition of the North East Zone squad.
The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy will take place in Dimapur, Nagaland, from November 4 to 14, marking an important chapter for women’s cricket in the region. The competition will feature teams from six zones — North, South, East, West, Central, and North East — competing in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final to battle for the title.
The meeting in Guwahati is expected to draw representatives from the various state associations under the North East Zone, who will assess performances from the recently concluded BCCI Senior Women’s T20 Trophy
