Restriction to foreigners

SHILLONG: The Superintendent of Police- cum- Foreigners Registration Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong, has requested  all non-governmental organizations, religious organizations or managements that while inviting foreigners to participate in any function or conference,  they should ensure that invitees do not participate or attend them on Tourist Visa.
The reason being that visitors with Tourist visas are prohibited to attend  such events or activities and it is a violation of the  Foreigners Act as per the directive of the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (Foreigners Division), New Delhi. Such visitors should have visas as per the purpose of their visit.
