SHILLONG: Three persons, who had inadvertently crossed over to Bangladesh nearly a decade back, are brought to India, thanks to the initiatives taken by Border Security Force (BSF).
They were brought back on Thursday as part of the Coordinated Border Management Plan (CBMP) signed by the border guards of both countries.
Among the trio, Anil Sangma stayed in Bangladesh for 11 years and seven months while Suman Boro stayed for 5 years and 4 months.
The third Indian national Fallon Forman(40) from -Umkiang, East Jaintia Hills who had inadvertently crossed International boundary was apprehended by BGB.
Out of the three, two were jailed in Sunamganj jail and were received by the BSF and police at the International Check Post at Dawki, a BSF sources said on Friday adding that they could not be repatriated due to procedural delay.
The Nodal Officer BSF, Meghalaya Frontier, after coming to know about these persons approached counterpart and took the initiative for their early repatriation to India.
After continuous perusal of their case at last both the Indian nationals were sent back through ICP Dawki with the help of Border Guard Bangladesh.
The border guards of both countries had signed the CBMP aimed at easing border management for both the forces guarding the Indo-Bangladesh border and to make life of border population peaceful.
