CS for research in nursing to ensure healthcare

SHILLONG: Chief Secretary Y Tsering on Thursday called for research in nursing.
He was speaking during the three-day second national conference with the theme: ”Knowing Research Basics: The Path Towards Quality Education, Adminis-tration and Practice” organised by the College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, that began on Thursday on the hospital premises.
Tsering said undertaking a research in nursing, which if applied and put into practice, will go a long way in addressing various healthcare issues that are prevalent in the society.
He also added that nursing being one of the main components in the health care sector is responsible for delivering quality health care services to the people.
While congratulating the nurses for their dedication, hardwork and unending services to the society, he urged the nursing students to learn and imbibe themselves from the deliberations of the resources persons during the 3-day conference and to incorporate those learnings into their research studies.
Others who spoke include Dr. K Reddemma, Nodal Officer, INC Consor-tium, Prof. (Dr.) D. M. Thappa, Director, NEIGRIHMS.
