Ampareen pledges to live upto voters’ exploitation

SHILLONG:  INC  candidate from East Shillong Ampareen Lyngdoh who won her third consecutive  election has said that she will not let the people of the constituency down  .

Speaking to media persons after being elected, Lyngdoh said “ I am going to fight tooth and  nail to see that every resident in my constituency gets a better place in the next five years.”

She however, lambasted the BJP saying  BJP has done nothing but   creating hatred in election  even  as she added that certain pockets got carried away   ad BJP brought in communal factor for which she is sad.

“ BJP came here and taught us hate but we  are above them and we should teach them love,” she said  while fearing that there would be lot of horse trading in the state

NPP MLA from Pynursula,   Prestone Tynsong said that   the things as far as formation of the Government would be cleared by Sunday.

Asked if he is considering himself as the Chief Ministerial candidate,  he refused to comment anything on the matter while adding that the matter has to be discussed between the elected MLAs

When asked about majority of sitting MLA who joined NPP and lost the elections, he said that you cannot do anything  when there is no mandate for them.

BJP MLA from Pynthorumkhrah constituency,  AL Hek said that NPP and BJP will form the new Government in Meghalaya where the Chief Minister will be from the big brother.

Meanwhile, the biggest surprise came when the Congress MLA and the Home Minister, HDR Lyngdoh lost the elections from Sohiong constituency.

“ I  respect the mandate of the people and people are the  best judge,” he said while admitting that it is an  unexpected verdict for him.

He said that he was representing the people for as many as 30 years and probably people wanted change in the constituency.

KHNAM candidate who won the polls for the first time after defeating JA Lyngdoh from BJP in North Shillong said that resolution of boundary dispute with Assam would be his priority  even as he refused to comment as to which party he will extend his support here in the state.

Independent MLA, Lambor Malngiang who defeated Ardent Basaiawmoit from from Nongrkrem constituency said that they have worked as a team to win the elections while pointing out that though  he has won the elections but still he along with other MLAs would urge  the Election Commission to revert back to old system of ballot voting

Congress MLA, David Nongrum   who won the election said that he was an independent candidate and he joined Congress to make sure that Congress comes back to power in Meghalaya because of its secular nature

His father, Charles Pyngrope who is making a re entry into the state politics after winning from  Nongthymmai constituency said that if party requires, he would give  his inputs for the strategy of the  congress to form the new Government in Meghalaya.
