SHILLONG: The annual Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) Declamation competition was held for the wards of Air Force personnel of Eastern Region on Wednesday at Eastern Air Command Headquarters in Upper Shillong.
The winners of the contest – Vasundhara and Darryl Rafael of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Upper Shillong will represent EAC at the AFWWA Central Declamation contest to be held in New Delhi.
23 participants representing 14 different Air Force Schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas under the EAC took part in the competition.
The contest was inaugurated by AFWWA regional president Deepshika Khosla who was also the chief guest. The judges for the competition were T Subba (Retd) HoD English, St Anthony’s College, Monotosh Chakravarty, HoD English, St. Edmund’s College, DK Choubey, HoD Hindi, N.E.H.U and Filmeca Marbaniang, HoD, Hindi, St. Anthony’s College.
