JHADC CEM opens tourist spot in Jowai

JOWAI: The Chief Executive member, JHADC, MB Rymbai inaugurated the ‘Khlieh Rymphum Tourism Project (Ksaid Rymphum or Rymphum Waterfalls) located at Mookyrdup boundary, Salaroh and Dongmihsngi of Jowai Town.
The project worth Rs 25 lakh was initiated by local MDC, Marki Mulieh under the Special Assistant Grant of the Central Government.
Speaking on the occasion, the JHADC chief lauded the three localities for taking interest and implementing the scheme initiated by the local MDC.
He said the place should be maintained not as a government property but their own. He also said that the beauty of the site will attract tourists.
Earlier, the Additional Commissioner, GAD and former EJH Deputy Commissioner, MS Lhuid urged the people to maintain cleanliness in the area.
As a member of the JTES (Jaintia Tourism and Environment Society, he said that cleanliness is very important in order to attract tourists.
The inaugural function was chaired by P Shylla, headman of Mookyrdup and vote of thanks was delivered by the headman of Dongmihsngi.
