SHILLONG: The State Cabinet, on Friday, decided to engage Hindustan Steel Works Construction Limited (HSWCL) as Project Management Consultant (PMC) for implementing different sports projects for the upcoming National Games to be hosted by Meghalaya in 2022. The proposal to appoint the PMC was brought by Sports and Youth Affairs department. Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong also expressed confidence that the government has the capability to construct all the infrastructures within the time frame of two years before the National Games. The firm would have to implement all the projects by taking necessary action including calling of tenders for the infrastructures, he further added. It may be mentioned that HSWCL is a Government of India undertaken PSU.
