Child rights panel’s bid to reach out to kids

SHILLONG, Dec 16: In a bid to reach out to the children, the Meghalaya State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, on Wednesday, launched its YouTube channel at Yojana Bhavan.
Speaking at the programme, Chairperson of the Commission, IM Syiem, said the children can be reached out through short plays, story-telling, animation etc, and anything that grabs the attention of the child.
She stressed that children should be encouraged to face the future.
Meanwhile, Chief Secretary MS Rao, said that law enforcement agencies face a major challenge as most of the crimes against children go unreported and that many of the crimes happen within the family.
