Gaurav Gogoi to head MPCC screening panel

NEW DELHI, Dec 28: The All India Congress Committee on Wednesday named Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi as the head the Congress Screening Committee for Meghalaya with MPCC president Vincent H Pala and AICC in-charge of the state Manish Chatrath as ex-officio members.
The committee, which will screen the party applications for the 2023 Assembly polls, has Lok Sabha member from Ernakulam, Hibi Eden and former minister and Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan, Neeraj Dangi as members.
Senior Congress leader Mukul Wasnik was appointed as the main observer for elections in Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura.
AICC secretary and party leader from Meghalaya Szarita Laitphlang was appointed as ex-officio member for Tripura.
