Shillong, April 19: Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings, criticised those who mocked Arjun Tendlukar over allegations of nepotism while praising the Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer for his final over heroics against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Tuesday.
In Hyderabad, MI was given the opportunity to bat against the SRH, and they did so well, scoring 192 runs against the home team thanks to 64 from Cameron Green and cameos from Ishan Kishan and Tilak Verma.
Apart from Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klassen, no other SRH hitters were successful in their response. In the final over, Arjun Tendulkar had to save 20 runs from being scored.
In the final over, the MI pacer was bowling yorkers, and Ravi Shastri praised the youngster and his way of thinking.
As Abdul Samad grew anxious, Arjun managed to get a run out on the second delivery of the over while only giving up four runs in the first three balls. Following Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s dismissal, the pacer would end the contest as SRH crumbled for 178 runs.
Arjun has been praised for maintaining his composure from all quarters, the most recent being Zinta. According to the co-owner of PBKS, many people made fun of the MI pacer for nepotism, but Arjun proved during the match against SRH that he had earned his place in the team. Zinta added that cricket icon and Arjun Tendulkar’s father Sachin would have been pleased of his son’s efforts.

Sachin commented about the win and congratulated MI before saying that he was happy to see a Tendulkar finally get an IPL wicket.
