Nominations
Nominations have been invited from East Khasi Hills for Padma Awards, viz., Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri, which will be announced on the occasion of Republic Day next year, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner said in a statement. The awards seek to recognise ‘work of any distinction’, and are given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/services in all fields of disciplines. Individuals from the district who desire their names to be recommended to the government for the award are requested to send their nominations to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Shillong, on or before August 18.
