Domestic workers want registration, fixed wages

SHILLONG, June 14: The domestic workers in the state have asked the government to start compulsory registration of all domestic workers and fix minimum wages for all domestic workers.
Speaking to media persons here, board member of All Meghalaya Domestic Workers’ Union, Elbina Nongkhlaw, said that there are over 3,000 members of the union who feel that the government should provide for compulsory registration of domestic workers as there are many who are not part of the union.
