SHILLONG: The newly-formed A’chik National Liberation Army (ANLA) has said that it had not sent any demand note to the Gramsevaks of Williamnagar.

It was reported that the Gramsevaks, after getting extortion notes became mentally disturbed and, one of them was admitted at Tura Civil Hospital.

Reacting to this, the ANLA’s self styled commander in chief Tensuang Achik said in a statement issued here on Monday that eight cadres fled from their camp after stealing arms and letter pads for their personal benefits.

Hinting that serving of extortion notes was the handiwork of the deserters, the ANLA leader said that stern action would be taken against them for misusing the name of the outfit,

“We assure the Gramsevaks not to worry and live a normal life. They should not pay any amount to the deserters”, ANLA leader asserted.
