Govt invites bids for direct flights from Umroi

SHILLONG, Nov 8: The Managing Director of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) has invited proposals from eligible regional, scheduled, and international carriers for the selection of an operator to provide non-stop direct flight services from Umroi to Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
The government is seeking mid-range aircraft (jet engine preferred over propeller type engines) with more than 70 seat capacity with a certified range to cover the identified sectors in non-stop mode for minimum two days a week.
