SHILLONG: The disciplinary committee of the BJP Meghalaya Unit met on Tuesday to discuss the allegations of E.D. Marak who had sought action against the BJP’s top leadership in the State.

The meeting discussed media reports where Marak had leveled allegations against the senior party functionaries and resolved to seek an explanation from Marak for highlighting an internal party dispute in the media.

The meeting also resolved to seek an explanation from Dondar Rumnang, a BJP primary member, for misusing the party’s Lotus symbol coinciding with Modi Fan Club, Shillong, and creating a propaganda against the party functionaries in the State.

The committee would meet again on June 25 to take a final call on the issue.

Meanwhile, E.D. Marak on Tuesday claimed that an ad hoc president has got no right to reshuffle or drop any executive committee members of the party, as per the party’s constitution.

He stated that a two-thirds majority of the executive members must be in favour of any reshuffle in the executive committee. “None of the executive members from Garo Hills were present in the meeting,” Marak claimed.

He reiterated that he was still the vice president of the BJP Meghalaya Unit since no official letter about his exclusion from the unit had been received by him.
