M’laya trounce Goa 13-1

Bhopal: Meghalaya registered a facile victory over lowly Goa defeating them by a superb margin of 13-1 in the league matches on the 4th day of the 1st Hockey India Senior Men’s National Championship here on Monday.

In a one-sided match, played in the first session on Monday morning, Meghalaya trounced Goa 13-1.

Displaying a fine form, Meghalaya’s Affan Yusuf netted four goals, followed by Irfan (3) and Aausaf (2) while Shankar Patil, Mudin, Imran and Shaquir scored one goal each. Valusiano scored the lone goal for Goa. The winning team scored eight field goals. (PTI)
