New Delhi: The anti-graft Lokpal bill is ready to be tabled in the monsoon session of parliament beginning Aug 1 and will be presented to the cabinet next week, the government said Friday.

“The Lokpal bill is ready. It will be placed before the cabinet next week,” Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V. Narayanasamy said.

“It will be placed in parliament and referred to the standing committee. After we get the standing committee report, our government is committed to see the Lokpal bill passed with the support of all political parties.”

His colleague, Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal, added that the entire nation and the government were ready to take on corruption.

“As soon as the Lokpal bill is passed after going to the parliamentary committee, we will face corruption together and end it,” Sibal said. (IANS)
