JOWAI: The Jaintia Hills district unit of FKJGP has expressed concern over alleged interferences by some politicians in implementation of various developmental schemes in the district.
The FKJGP unit’s chief Tuesday Lytep on Sunday alleged that Jaintia Hills legislators had been interfering in various developmental schemes meant for BPL families.
“Such interference by our politicians has affected the implementation of these schemes in the district,” he said adding “officers had to wait for MLAs’ recommendation and only those people who are close to their MLAs can avail such government schemes”. “Some MLAs have even threatened a section of offices who refused go by their recommendations,” he added.
Two girls go missing: Two girls were reportedly went missing in two separate incidents. One Beautiful Dkhar (18) of Wapungshnong went missing on December 1. Another 15-year-old girl, Tikna Suchen of Lama village, went missing on November 28 from Rymbai village.
