Fresh plea in land grabbing case

SHILLONG: Tushar Nath Bhattacharjee, an NRI from Australia, has decided to submit a fresh appeal after the lower Court dismissed his case related to the alleged land grabbing of a 19,585 square feet plot of land at Lachumiere in the city by former State Additional Advocate General SP Mahanta.

In a press conference on Thursday, Bhattacharjee said, “My lawyers are are preparing to file the appeal in hte higher court.”

The court in its verdict on February 10 had stated that as the plaintiff had failed to prove his case he is not entitled to the relief claimed.
