Imphal: With the induction of eight more ministers, the Ibobi Singh led Congress ministry has been finally expanded on Saturday, now with a total strength of twelve cabinet ministers including the chief minister.
The new ministers sworn in on Friday are I. Hemochandra Singh who will be in charge of PHED and Labour & Employment, Govindas Konthoujam – Commerce & Industry, Sericulture and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Ngamthang Haokip – Irrigation and Flood Control Department, and Printing & Stationery, M. Okendro Singh – Education and CAF & PD, Francis Ngajokpa – RD & PR and Economics & Statistics, Dr. Kh. Ratan Kumar – Works and Transport, A.K. Mirabai – Social Welfare and Cooperation and Md. Abdul Nasir – Agriculture and Fisheries. Speaking to reporters on the sideline of the swearing in ceremony, the chief minister stated that the ministers sworn in on Saturday are those who have been elected several times from their respective constituency and even then there are a few who are still left out. It is reported that MLAs Y. Irabot and N. Biren were not present at the swearing in ceremony. (NNN)
