NONGSTOIN: Toughening their stand on the the Langpih issue, the Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) has called for a two-day night road blockade in West Khasi Hills from from Tuesday. The HANM announced this decision at a central executive committee meet here on Saturday.
“The night road blockade will commence from 7pm and will continue till 5am in the morning,” a HANM statement said.
Meanwhile, HANM West Khasi Hills President Arphul Kharbani said that though the one week deadline given to the State Government to solve the Langpih issue will get over on Monday, there is no sign of action on part of the authorities.
The HANM lambasted the government for not being able to solve the problem of the people of the border village.
“If the State Government did not take any step to solve the border issue during the strike the Movement will be forced to take the agitation further,” Arphul added.
