Workshop on electoral registration

 NONGSTOIN: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills organised workshops on electoral registration at various locations within the district to create awareness about electoral registration and its benefits.

The workshop at all the locations was attended by the headmen of the area, along with officials from the village councils and the villagers as Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) V Swer highlighted the importance of electoral registration.

With the elections due in six to seven months the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and the Election Department, West Khasi Hills in particular are making all efforts to make sure that no discrepancies are reported in the area.
