TURA: The Tura Government College Student’s Union (TGCSU) vexed over the Governments’ adamant stance in fulfilling their long standing demands has resolved to picket West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Friday.

Informing this, TGCSU General Secretary Nikman Ch Marak stated that the Union had given the Government ample time to reciprocate to their demands but the Meghalaya Government had refused to acknowledge their needs, he said.

Some of the long pending demands of the College Student’s Union are a full fledged Vice Principal, disburshment of salaries to morning shift lecturers, appointment of lecturers to vacant posts, appointment of more ministerial staff, introduction of new subjects and introduction of Honors in Geography.
