Office bearers elected

The National Congress party, East Khasi Hills has elected FL Mawlong was the president, Andy Lyngwa as the vice president, Harkin Warjri as the general secretary besides other members.

 Website launch

The Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training website and the Meghalaya Employment Exchange web portal for online registration will be launched on Friday at the committee room no 1 of the Meghalaya Secretariat by the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma.

 Exhibition

 Dead body

The authority of the Ganesh Das hospital has asked the relatives of one Dhammaya Chetri (40) of Nongjri Borsora, West Khasi Hills who was admitted in the hospital on August 3 and died on August 5 to collect the body from the hospital morgue immediately.

 144 CrPc

The SDO of Sohra civil sub-division has notified an order under section 144 CrPc prohibiting the export of boulders from Bakra River at Shella to Bangladesh. The matter came to the fore after continuous complaints from the land owners and local residents of Shella.
