WILLIAMNAGAR: Community & Rural Development (C&RD) Minister Saleng Sangma on Monday inaugurated the IL&FS placement-linked skill development training programme at Williamnagar.
It may be mentioned that IL&FS under the sponsorship of the Union Ministry of Rural Development and with the support from the State C&RD department is implementing placement-linked skill development training for unemployed rural BPL youth. The first batch of 60 candidates will undergo one-month training on two courses – Basic Facility & Hospitality Management for class V to XII students and House Keeping for students from Class XII and above.
Speaking on the occasion Sangma said the skill development training centre was a befitting initiative by the government and expressed his hope that there will be justice done to job seekers and the youth of the State.
Dedicating the launch of the training programme to the people of the State particularly the youth, Sangma asked them to take full advantage of this training programme.
“Being an educated person does not mean that you are likely to get certain jobs but you must have that ability and skill to get all kinds of jobs,” Sangma said, while urging the women to make use of financial inclusion that is provided in every Block and to engage themselves in vocational training.
