TURA: The Federation for A·chik Freedom (FAF), Chokpot Regional Unit has expressed its dissatisfaction with the Chokpot PHE department for failure to supply water smoothly in Chokpot area as a result of which the people are facing lot of hardship.

FAF said the water scarcity problem is not a new problem that has cropped up recently but it is a perennial problem that has been plaguing Chokpot area for years. The people of the area are being forced to run around from place to place even to obtain a single bucket of drinking water since the PHE department fails to supply even a considerable amount of potable water to the people.

The Forum has also stated that almost all the pipelines in the area are all dried up and neglected, which is a clear indication that the Chokpot PHE department is negligent of its duties and responsibilities towards supplying water to the people.

FAF further alleged that the SDO, PHE Chokpot hardly attends office and since the head of the department is absent, the staff are neglecting their duties. Also most of the works are being left unfinished by contractors but the SDO and his staff have failed to look into the matter.
