Several injured in road mishaps across the State

Shillong: Two people were injured when a Maruti Gypsy (MLO5G – 5567) travelling towards Borsora from Shillong was involved in a head on collision with a TATA Sumo (MLO5F – 8631) coming from Borsora to Shillong at Pomlum, 18th Mile under Mawsynram Block, East Khasi Hills on Wednesday morning.

The injured persons – Fullbari Nongtnger (43, female) and Showli Hashah (28, male) – were shifted to Mawsynram PHC and then to Shillong Civil Hospital.

In another accident, a truck (MLO5C – 9776) carrying logs went off the road at Nongbri Village under Mairang Block, West Khasi Hills while it was travelling towards Shillong on Tuesday at 8pm. The truck driver, Gopal Sharma (34) sustained injuries and was shifted to Mairang CHC and then to Shillong Civil Hospital.

On Tuesday afternoon, a pedestrian walking on the side of the road was hit by a Maruti AStar (MLO8C – 0016) which was coming from Tura and travelling towards Garobadha at Sankarigri under Selsella Block, West Garo Hills. The injured pedestrian Hemalson Marak (45, male) was admitted at the Tura Civil Hospital.
