Kidnap attempt for drugs

Two alleged drug addicts who tried to abduct a taxi driver for money to purchase drugs were arrested by the police on Saturday.

According to police, at around 1.15 pm on Saturday, two persons, Robert Kharsati (22) and Dany Dkhar (26), allegedly drug addicts, attempted to kidnap the driver of a Maruti van (ML-04B-0278) Pynshai Rymbai (28), from Nazareth Hospital, Shillong by showing a toy gun to extort money to buy drugs. However, the staff on duty caught the duo. Later, police arrested the accused persons and subsequently recovered the toy lighter gun which was hidden in a shop. Police also recovered small quantity of drugs from their possession.

Gun recovered from garbage

Police arrested one George Sangma (38), a resident of Madanriting at Polo on Saturday for possession of a country made revolver.

Police said the accused concealed the revolver in garbage, which was subsequently recovered and seized.

Molestation

A woman lodged a complaint that on December 7 at around 5.30 pm, one Marshall Kharsohtun molested her minor daughter (14) in his house at Wahkhtieh Mawpat, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.

Rape

A woman lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on December 5 at around 12.30 pm, two persons, identified as Arup Barman (15) and Andrew Rani (22) raped her minor daughter (4) at Kper Shyiap, Pynthorbah, Shillong. Police arrested the accused persons.

Theft

On December 5 night, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09-8938) belonging to Tuelson M. Sangma from his garage at Dabit Nalsagittim, South Garo Hills.

Threat after molestation

Robina S. Lyngkhoi lodged a complaint at Mawkyrwat police station that on December 3, Teiborli N. Thongni molested and threatened her with dire consequences at Pyndemsynia village, South West Khasi Hills.
