Two former militants in fray for election

Agartala: Both of them are surrendered extremists’ but in fray from two separate constituencies representing two different parties in ensuing poll to Tripura assembly on Feb 14 next.

Khagendra Jamatia, a former militant leader belonging to ATPLO in 1980s was self styled South Tripura area commander under Binanda Jamatia, who had again after surrender become a CPM leader and after his third victory Khagendra Jamatia became minister in Manik Sarkar’s cabinet.

Meanwhile, Bijoy Kr Hrankhwal chief of former militant outfit TNV wanted to be ‘president of Independent Tripura’ now lone legislator of INPT in the assembly is in the fray from Ambassa constituency in Dhalai district.

He surrendered before the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. (UNI)
