Coal miners attacked

JOWAI: On Wednesday night, a group of miscreants from Samasi village armed with sophisticated weapons entered in to Briwar area in a coal mine and started firing indiscriminately seriously injuring two coal labourers identified as Nijam Uddin and Anil Subba (19). Both the victims were rushed to Jowai Civil Hospital in a critical condition.

Sources also informed that the miscreant chased away about 130 coal miners and later set fire on their camps.

According to a complaint lodged by Sutnga MDC, Richard Singh Lyngdoh, the miscreants who attacked the labourers were identified as Begin Paslein, Jelwis Paslein, Well Manar, Hosta Salahe, Heimon Manaar, Dream Chyrmang, Nang Paslein and Rowel Chyrmang all of Samasi village.
