Assault

On May 20 at around 8 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted a police constable J Marbaniang with an iron rod, while he was on duty at Mawlai. As a result, the constable sustained head injuries. After the incident, the miscreants fled away. Matter is under enquiry.

Immigrants arrested

On May 18 at around 8 pm, Police arrested two Myanmar nationals, Supai (32) and Mgkhing (36) from Prakash Hotel, Laitumkhrah for staying in India without valid documents.

Fraud

lOne Rohit Premjani lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on May 9 at around 11 am, one person identified as Vishal Gupta, Officer of Indian Oil Corporation, cheated him of Rs. 34,78,600 with a promise to provide him a contract work amounting to Rs. 2,09,40,000.

lOne Karma Kundu and Lobsang Dawa lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that they have deposited Rs. 74,000 at Torsa Bank, GS Road. However, out of the amount deposited, the bank had misappropriated Rs. 57,000.

lDushijant Verma and Kamla Verma, Members of Board of Directors, Pegasus Hotels Pvt. Ltd., lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that Kailesh Verma, who is also a Member of the Board of Directors, forged their signatures, manipulated the documents and illegally convened a meeting of the Board of Directors.
