Installation Ceremony

The Rotary Club of Shillong will observe the 57th Installation ceremony of the Board of Directors, 2013-14 at Hotel Pinewood on July 10 at 7pm.

Inter-school competition

The Metallica-Sargam Sports and Cultural Club, in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan will organise an inter-school drawing and painting competition on July 13 at RB Anoop Chand Hindi Secondary School, Keating Road, from 11am onwards.

Book Release

Webster Davies Jyrwa, ex-president of the Khasi Authors’ Society, who has received six literary awards and the Meghalaya Day Tirot Sing Memorial Award for contributions in the field of Art and Culture will release his new book Ki Sienjam ban sah kynmaw at Dinam Hall, Jaiaw on July 6 at 11am.

School concert

KC Secondary School will be holding its annual school concert, a musical entitled, Simba’s Story (The Lion King) on July 6 at U Soso Tham Auditorium from 4.30 pm onwards.

Meeting

The Controller of Legal Metrology convened a meeting of all the LPG dealers of Khasi and Jaintia Hills on Tuesday to inform them about the amendment of the provisions of the Legal Metrology Packaged Commodities Rules, 2011. All marketing companies, manufacturers and distributors of LPG cylinders were asked to maintain weighting devices to check the weight of the cylinders.

Recruitment

The 119 Infantry Battalion, Assam Rifles, will conduct a recruitment rally for residents of the North East, West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands from July 8 to July 13 at Kench’s Trace from 7 am onwards.
