Suspected GNLA rebel held with arms

 TURA: Security forces on Sunday arrested a suspected militant and confiscated a pistol from Tikrikilla region.

West Garo Hills police together with army personnel conducted a search operation in Tikrikilla region and arrested a suspected GNLA militant identified as Sanjay Sangma (23) from Chijanggre village.

The security forces also recovered a pistol and a detonator from the possession of the arrested person, police sources said.

The arrest takes place less than a day after security forces seized a grenade launcher from Dopachigre village on the foothills of Ranggira hills under Garobadha police outpost and arrested a GNLA militant identified as Jinda M Sangma (21) who hailed from Megapgre village.

Three overground workers were also taken into custody during Saturday’s raid.
