Awareness programme on breastfeeding

SHILLONG: An awareness programme was conducted by the Nutrition and Dietetics Cell of the Allied Health Sciences Department, Martin Luther Christian University, on the theme ‘Breastfeeding Support: Close to mothers’ at Pomlakrai Liewlong Village (East Khasi Hills) on Wednesday to mark the World Breastfeeding Week from August 1-7.

The programme saw the participation of around 50 women both of reproductive and non-reproductive age.

Lectures were delivered by the faculties – Sweety Z Wankhar and Laribha Dohtdong – on the importance of breastfeeding and safe method of breastfeeding.
