State police, home guards, BSF personnel conferred awards

 SHILLONG: Two home guards personnel of the Meghalaya Civil Defence and Home guard department will be awarded for meritorious service on the occasion of Independence Day.

The President of India has approved the award to be given to Senior Instructor Rohesh Koch and Guardsman of the Department’s Central Training Institute, Arun Singh. The two personnel will be awarded on the occasion of Independence Day to be celebrated in the city on Thursday.

MLP Sixth Battalion Commandant J Rymmai has been conferred with the Indian Police Medal (IPM) for meritorious service on the occasion of the 67th Independence Day.

On the eve of Independence Day, Border Security Force has been conferred with various medals and awards.

While the former IG of BSF, Meghalaya Frontier, Sudesh Kumar, and Deputy Inspector General (Medical), Composite Hospital, BSF, Surendra Singh Brijwal, were awarded President’s Police medals for distinguished service, Police medals for meritorious service were awarded to Dr Abnish Chandra Bhardwajan, Chief Medical Officer, Frontier Headquarter, Shillong, Yashwant Singh, Inspector, 98 Battalion and Mohinder Singh Bisht, Inspector, 108 Battalion.
