SHILLONG: Taking the onus of the present state of affairs that has gripped the State, an individual Manbha Lyngdoh has shot off a complaint to the National Human Rights Commission against four prominent individuals of the State including the president of Meghalaya Human Rights Council Dino Dympep.
In a complaint shot off to the chairperson of NHRC Justice KG Balakrishnan, Manbha Lyngdoh has held accountable MLA Clifford Marak, FKJGP president Joe Marwein, KSU president Daniel Khyriem and Dino Dympep for the same.
The complaint stated that Clifford Marak instigated miscreants to create violence in demand for a separate state of Garo Hills and also that some women were molested and manhandled at Tura DC office by miscreants under the leadership of the MLA.
The complainant also voiced disapproval over the incident when two labourers working for the construction of a PWD road at Mawlai were about to be burnt alive during the agitations called by the organisations under the leadership of Joe Marwein and Daniel Khyriem.
In addition, miscreants under the behest of two leaders threw petrol bombs at three shops at Iewduh.
The complainant also pointed out that whenever incidents occur against miscreants or custodial deaths come about, the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission comes to the forefront to condemn the State authorities but the same Human Rights Council turned a blind eye whenever the general public are put to inhuman acts by at the hands of the NGOs.
